Why Segar Tuition?

Segar Tuition was started to bring quality tuition to the neighbourhood of Segar, Bukit Panjang, Singapore.

Subscribing to The VARK Model, we believe that every student should have access to a variety of learning methods apart from the standard classes in school.

Not all students learn the same way and will respond differently to different methods of instruction.

So at Segar Tuition, you can expect students to have plenty of hands-on activities and visual aids, apart from the usual read and write worksheets.

How are Lessons Conducted?

Students are given individual activities to complete during our lessons.  On occasions, they may be paired or grouped into 3s if the activity requires.

Depending on the type of learner as described in The VARK Model, the student will focus on one or a combination of the following:

  • Videos and Pictorial Aids to explain concepts
  • Audio recordings and one to one discussions with the teacher
  • Worksheets to complete
  • Practical hands-on activities

Our Skills & Expertise

For over 15 years, I have worked continuously to develop a comprehensive tuition programme that delivers effective results in my core subjects of Mathematics and Science.

My experience in MOE and International Schools included setting and marking examination scripts.  This allowed me to gain an insight in the requirements of examiners and how the marking scheme is usually formulated.

During this time, I have also seen students learn more effectively when hands-on activities and visual aids were introduced, as opposed to the usual audio lecture and worksheet oriented style of classroom teaching.

I have also found like-minded teachers to join us in going above and beyond to offer support to our students inside and outside of the classroom.
